In line with my interests and with a focus on social benefit, I am professionally active in several fields, and I am considering entering a few new ones as well.

Publishing

From time to time, I work on translating books on biology and evolution into Turkish. Although my work generally takes place somewhere between translation and publication, what could broadly be called editing, it occasionally extends into both translation and editorial work.

I plan to expand my activities in publishing in the medium term, both in terms of topics I’m interested in and my capacity. I now feel confident that I can also contribute in the field of philosophy of science, in addition to evolution and biology. I also plan to increase my work in both translation and editorial roles. I’m open to collaboration in these areas.

Science Communication

At the intersection of journalism, publishing, and education, science communication is an emerging field in our country where I’ve been active for quite some time, both academically and professionally. At a time when many anti-scientific movements are spreading globally—from climate change denial to flat-earthism, I believe we need innovative thinking in this area. While I continue to reflect on it, I also plan to further develop my activities and collaborations in science communication soon. Stay tuned.

Education

Education is a field I plan to enter, if I can resolve certain logistical issues. During the pandemic, I organized “Introduction to Biology” seminars among friends, which I believe were quite productive. I would like to repeat these seminars in a more formal and widespread format. Once I figure out the “where” and “how” of it, I plan to announce it here. But if you’re interested in joining the seminars, feel free to get in touch with me in advance.
